When we want to reach any place in the world, then we usually ask for its address and put it in our GPS. When we want to reach any destination, then we can type the address in the URL bar of our favorite web browser on the Internet. The problem with the Internet is that every address has no public address. Some destinations have only a private address, and is one of them. It is one type of private IP address similar to used by several Vendors as a default gateway. - 192.168.o.1 Router Admin Login

How to Access Router Settings Using  IP Address

If we have ever tried to open any router IP address in a web browser, then it is probably impossible to get very far without the correct router IP password. The problem with this is that every router is different; there are several default router login or password combinations to try. To log in to this IP address, we can the following steps

Step 1: Open the browser and type into the URL address bar.

Step 2: Enter the router login and password. If We don’t know them, please check the list of the default router passwords.

Step 3: We are inside the admin panel and can change any settings now.

Usually, some routers have the default router login or password combination printed on the sticker at the back or bottom. There are also some websites that list common passwords for different router manufacturers, such as Routerspasswords.com. Now we know how to login into routers, now it’s time to look at common router settings.

How to Change Router Settings?

After a successful router login, we should be able to change router settings. And there are many settings that we can change, but the ones we’ll be likely interested in the most revolve around wireless internet access and security.

1. Wi-Fi Name

We can give any name to our wireless network that we want. And there are many popular clever, funny, and some cool WiFi names that we can copy or use for inspiration. A good WiFi name should be unique, inoffensive, and easy to remember.

2. Wi-Fi Password

Unless we like the idea of our neighbor leeching off our Wi-Fi and bringing our speeds to a crawl so that it is highly recommended to have a strong password with at least 8 characters long and consists of letters, numbers, and special characters.

3. Wi-Fi Channel

To ensure an optical high Wi-Fi performance, it is necessary to pick the right Wi-Fi channel. With the help of net spot or Wi-Fi analyzer app for macOS and Windows, we can quickly identify the least crowded Wi-Fi channels in our area so that we can easily find which is better. Apart from channel analysis, net spot also helps us to find the right spot for our router and troubleshoot common Wi-Fi problems.

What Is The Private IP Address

What may be the reason for having certain destinations on the Internet that don’t have private addresses but has to do everything with the Internet Protocol Version 4 (Ipv4), that defines an IP address as a 32-bit number. It contains only 4,294,967,296 addresses because the IPv4 loop is in 32-bit size.

Among those, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has directed Internet assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) to reserve 17.9 million addresses for private networks, which are used for Local Area Networks (LANs) in office, residential, and enterprise environments.

And we might have thought that nearly 4.3 billion IP addresses would be enough, but we would be wrong. Now, there are around 23 billion connected devices, and this number is expected to be double by 2023. To cope with this IP address shortage, a single public IP address is often used to hide the entire IP address space consisting of private IP addresses using Network Address Translation (NAT), which is a method of remapping one IP address space into another.

A new version of internet protocol has been developed, called IPv6.Unlike its predecessor, IPv6 uses a 128-bit address, allowing approximately 3.4×1038 addresses, which is actually enough to assign a unique IPv6 address to every single atom on the surface of the earth.

If we have a router which uses IP addresses and we know it’s login and password, then we can type the address into the URL field of our web browser, log in and change any router settings that we want.

Why Won’t Load?

That Page may not load either because we are not entering the correct IP corresponding to our router, or else there is some other issue with our router. In that case, it is better to reset both our router and system.

Why Can’t I Connect to

Usually, we may not be able to connect to the IP because there may be an issue between our system and the router. And we need to check if all the devices are running properly. If all it seems good, then do a hard reset and reconnect.
