The Bump Gets in the Way of his Work and Social Life

First up is Tim with a massive growth on his back. It’s so large, the bump gets in the way of his work and social life. The bump has been growing for about 10 years. “It’s probably big as a I can tell the extra weight, now I’m walking with a limp,” Tim says.

He finally realized he needs to take care of it. His friends say he’s ashamed of the lump. Tim also admits he would be open to dating if he didn’t have the lump anymore. “I hope I can get rid of a pound of two today,” he says.

Risk of Complications

“You can see it just walking him in,” Dr. Pimple Popper says. “The bigger the bump, the bigger the risk of complications.

This is something I don’t take lightly.” She takes her time consulting with Tim. “This is the biggest thing I’ve ever seen,” Dr. Pimple Popper says when she gets a first peek at it. She agrees it’s a lipoma, which is a “collection of benign fat cells.”

Dr. Pimple Popper asks as she begins surgery to remove the lipoma, “What have you collected in here?” At this point, she’s still not certain removal will go smoothly or even at all. “It’s official, it is a world-record breaking lipoma,” the dermatologist says as she tugs and struggles with the massive lipoma. “I need to work out more.”

Tim’s lipoma is stuck and tethered down on the bottom and it’s hard to get to it, but Dr. Pimple Popper is determined. “I really want to keep this in one piece,” she says. “Can I pop this out of this small hole?

I was finally able to remove this big melon-sized lipoma from Tim. I’m concerned about not dropping this thing. It’s like a greased pig. Do you feel lighter?”

This particular lipoma tipped the scale at 12 lbs 9 ounces. Dr. Pimple Popper says, “It was heaviest mass I’ve ever removed.” Yep, this lipoma is bigger than her mozzarella cheese lipoma removal.

Dr. Pimple Popper’s next patient is Daniel, and he has debilitating psoriasis that covers 90% of his body. “It feels like a thousand needles all over me, then somebody has poured gasoline on me and lit the match,” he explains. “They burn and they itch.”

His skin condition is controlling his whole life, and he is unable to play with his daughter the way he wants to. Dr. Pimple Popper says it’s a common skin condition that affects about one in 100 people in the U.S., but Daniel has a “particularly severe case.” “It’s pretty much stolen my entire life,” he explains.

Last Words

Dr. Pimple Popper wants to give him his life back with injections. “There’s no immediate cure, but there are some things I can start him on to help,” she says. He leaves with at-home treatments and new hope. “This is where I reach for the stars,” he says.
