Beastars, a coming-of-age zoomorphic anime, was a welcome addition to the can’t-miss list, despite the controversy it sparked owing to its adult subject matter.

Due to the success of the first two seasons of the Studio Orange-created Beastars anime on Netflix, fans are understandably curious about the possibility of a third season.

Visually gorgeous animation contributed tenfold to the anime’s unique tale, and the second season’s epic disclosure of the culprit behind Tem’s murder stunned everyone away.

Will There be a Season 3 of Beastars

While the conclusion of the second season’s 12-episode run in March 2021 seemed to be where the anime was appearing to close the book, Netflix has recently confirmed that production on a third season is well underway.

So, in summary, here is what we know about Beastars: The upcoming third season will air on television.

When will the Third Season of Beastars be Available?

Netflix has announced that the third season of Beastars will drop in 2024. Studio Orange is currently producing an adaptation of the manga, which will most likely cover the remaining volumes.

While it has not yet been confirmed, we estimate that Beastars: Season 3 will consist of 24 episodes. If the second season of the anime concluded somewhere around chapter 99 of the manga, then there are still 97 chapters to be converted.

That’s compelling evidence that the third season, which will have 24 episodes and will likely be split into two parts, should run.

Why Does Season 3 of Beastars Exist? (Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead)

Towards the end of Beastars Season 2, Legushi and Riz fought a brutal battle. Since Riz had the upper hand for the majority of the intense fight, Legushi’s chances of survival looked bleak.

However, when Louis intervened, he suggested that Legushi eat Riz’s leg in order to get superhuman strength.

Legushi eats Louis’s leg and successfully takes down Riz, much to his regret. Both are arrested as a result, but only Legushi serves any significant time in prison.

Legushi and Haru were seen having a conversation and planning their next steps in the final scene. It is currently unknown whether Studio Orange will adapt the remaining manga chapters for Beastars: Season 3 or if they will instead introduce some new material.

It’s possible that the final two arcs of the manga will be covered in the third season. Following the first arc, Revenge of the Love Failure, is the Interspecies Relations Arc, in which Legushi tries to find his place in the world after avenging Tem.

The final chapter will be a saga about the crime lord Melon and what is in store for Haru and Legushi.

That’s all we know about Beastars: Season 3 at the moment, but stay tuned for further news as 2024 draws near. In the meantime, if you haven’t seen the first two seasons of the anime, you can do so for free on Crunchyroll.
