Rappers that Died 2022

Many outstanding rappers, from Trouble to Wavy Navy Pooh, have left this world far too soon. Rappers and other hip-hop artists continue to fall victim to gang violence, drug overdoses, and other tragic circumstances. The following is a complete list of deceased rappers from the year 2022. Remember with them as you read on.

Rappers that Died 2022

1: Trouble (Mariel Semonte Orr )

Trouble, born Mariel Semonte Orr and raised in Atlanta, began her music career when she was just 14 years old.

In a tragic end on June 5th, the 34-year-old rapper famed for hits like ‘Ain’t My Fault’ was shot during a home invasion in the Rockdale County apartment of a female companion. Jamichael Jones, the suspect, had a domestic conflict with the woman and did not know Orr.

2: Snootie Wild (LePreston Porter)

As Snootie Wild, LePreston Porter’s stage name, his first single “Yayo” was a huge success and paved the way for the remainder of his career. The 36-year-old rapper was discovered comatose in a ditch in Houston on February 25, 2022, with gunshot wounds to the neck. His condition at the hospital was critical.

3: Lil Keed (Raqhid Jevon Render)

Rapper Raqhid Jevon Render, better known by his stage name Lil Keed, signed with Young Thug’s YSL Records and 300 Entertainment. On the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Songs Airplay chart, Lil’s “Nameless” peaked at position #42.

However, he passed away on May 13, 2022, at the tender age of 24.  His death can be attributed to the fact that he was brought to Burbank Hospital in Los Angeles after complaining of severe abdominal pain. Kidney and liver disease, possibly related to drug usage, led to his death.

4: DJ Kay Slay

American disc jockey (DJ) from New York City who went by the stage name DJ Kay Slay (born Keith Grayson). On April 17, the 55-year-old music promoter who was infamously dubbed as “Hip Hop’s One-Man Ministry of Insults” died from a virus called Covid-19.

5: Tdott Woo (Tahjay Dobson)

TDott Woo, a rapper from Brooklyn, was killed in a shooting in Canarsie on February 1—just hours after signing his first record deal. The 22-year-old artist and dancer was shot in a drive-by in the same neighbourhood he grew up in, taking a bullet to the head and another to the left knee.

Million Dollar Music announced on their social media that TDott Woo had inked a deal with them just hours before his demise. According to the record company, Dobson is a “rising star” who “rose to prominence for his ‘Woo Walk’ from a community whose drill music has and continues to electrify the world.”

6: Wavy Navy Pooh (Shandler Beaubien)

Rapper Wavy Navy Pooh (real name: Shandler Beaubien) was shot and killed on January 14 in his native Miami. The young “M.I.A.M.I. (Murder Is A Major Issue)” rapper was shot dead in his Toyota Camry near Zoo Miami. He was only 28 years old. Throughout the past year, Beaubien has been linked to several shootings in northern Miami-Dade County.

7: Goonew (Markelle Morrow)

Rapper Goonew (real name: Markell Morrow) was a native of the Greater Washington, DC area. He was on his way to stardom when he passed away, but his song “Stain” had already won him some notoriety.

On March 18 of this year, he was fatally shot at the young age of 24. He apparently was shot in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and later declared dead at a local hospital.

Goonew’s relatives apparently think he was slain during a heist. The rapper grew up in the notoriously violent and impoverished state of Maryland. He was one of the most influential “new waves” of rappers due to his distinctive flow.

8: Lil Devin (Devin Swain)

Lil Devin, whose given name at birth was Devin Swain, rose to fame with the release of songs like “MVP” and a remix of Coi Leray’s “No Parties.” Devin was murdered in January during a New Year’s Eve party at his house.

According to eyewitnesses, several masked individuals barged into a New Year’s Party and accosted Swain before shooting and killing the rapper. The rapper was discovered with chest wounds. Tragically, he passed very shortly after arriving at the hospital. Devin’s age was only 24.

9: Archie Eversole (Arthur Lee “Archie” Eversole)

American rapper Archie Eversole, whose most successful track was “We Ready” (released in 2002). Eversole’s parents were serving in the military, and they took him to Germany, where he was born. At a Decatur petrol station on 25 March 2022, authorities discovered Eversole with a gunshot wound to the face.

The rap star said that an intruder shot him while he was sleeping in his own bedroom. On April 3, 2022, at the age of 37, he tragically passed away in the hospital from his wounds. After police spotted blood on Alexander Krause’s socks, they detained him at Eversole’s house and charged him with murder.

10: JayDaYoungan (Javorius Tykies Scot)

Famous for his hits like “Elimination,” “Opps,” and “23 Island,” American rapper and musician Javorius Tykies Scott was better known by his stage name, JayDaYoungan. He started his rapping career when he was 18 years old, and he dropped out of high school to do it.

JayDaYoungan was shot at least eight times on July 27, 2022, and he later died at a hospital in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Both of his father’s arms had been shot, but he was doing OK. Scott and his father, Kenyatta Scott, were sitting on the front lawn of their Bogalusa house when a black truck pulled up and three gunmen inside began fire.

Both of them made it into the house before being ambushed by a second set of gunmen. However, in an act of self-defense, his father also began firing back. Although he made it through the ordeal, his 24-year-old son did not.
