Yes, Oreos! When a classic keeps on giving, it never gets old. Whether it’s the limited-edition Pokemon Oreos, the luxurious Tiramisu Oreos, or the seasonal Apple Cider Donut Oreos, everyone’s favourite milk-based biscuit never fails to surprise.
Even though we’re big fans of the new Oreo flavours, we miss the old school lunchtime treats. For this reason, we couldn’t contain our joy upon learning that Nabisco would once again offer Oreo Cakesters. Cakesters’ comeback was well worth the wait of only a decade.

Any Idea Where Those Oreo Cakesters Went?
In 2007, the first iteration of the Oreo Cakesters appeared. Cakesters were chocolate snack cakes filled with a soft vanilla crème, somewhat like a whoopie pie. Many people were disappointed when stores stopped carrying this sweet in 2012.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason for the Cakesters’ demise, though it has been theorised that the original recipe may have been less popular than anticipated. Nabisco has apparently received enough fan letters to bring back Oreo Cakesters, which we welcome with open arms.
In 2022, You Can Expect the Return of the Oreo Cakesters
We’re slightly envious of anyone who gets to try Oreo Cakesters for the first time. Like a cake sandwich, each Cakester consists of two fluffy snack cakes sandwiching a sweet filling.
What could be better than a dessert that tastes like a cookie but melts in your mouth like a cake?
Traditionally, Oreo Cakesters have been made with a chocolate cake base and a vanilla cream filling. However, that will not be the only Cakester available. Nutter Butter Cakesters, which feature peanut butter in between two snack cakes, will also be available.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until 2022 to get your hands on Oreo Cakesters and Nutter Butter Cakesters, but happily that year is just around the corner. They’ll be a permanent addition to the Oreo range, and the good news is that they’ll be accessible in retailers across the country.
