Will There be Another Season of Darling and the Franxx
More than four years have passed since the conclusion of the first season, whose final episode was met with widespread outrage from viewers. However, neither the creators nor the streaming services nor the publishers have made any announcements on the future of the smash science fiction hit.
Because the anime is not based on a source material, we also don’t know how the story of Zero Two and Hiro will progress.
Shortly after the premiere of the TV adaptation, a manga series was created, but it follows a different plot and hence cannot be considered a sequel. Despite the hopes of many fans and online petitions for a second season of Darling in the Franxx, the show’s renewal seems highly unlikely.

Love Interest in the Franxx Plot
Large dinosaur-like creatures called Klaxosaurs nearly wiped out humanity in the far future, and those who survived built gigantic fortress settlements called Plantations to protect themselves.
The only weapons known to be effective against the Klaxosaurs are the huge mechas known as FranXX, and the children reared here are taught to operate them in boy-girl pairs.
These kids have been raised from birth to operate these robots; they have no experience with the real world and can only justify their existence by fighting for their kind.
After bombing an aptitude exam, Hiro, an aspiring FranXX pilot, lost all drive and confidence in himself. Hiro avoids his high school’s graduation ceremony in favour of a quiet afternoon by a forest lake, where he meets a mystery young woman with horns sprouting from her head.
As she introduces herself, she uses the alias Zero Two, which is associated with the “Partner Killer,” a notorious FranXX plot.
