Johnny Depp discussed his daughter Lily-Rose Depp’s decision to stay away from his wedding to Amber Heard and the reasons why in his most recent court session. Common knowledge has it that the couple tied the knot on his Bahamian private island in 2015.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star went on to explain his difficult marriage with Amber until 2017 by saying he “stayed in an abusive marriage” since his father did the same thing.

While reminiscing his February 2015 wedding to Heard in a small ceremony on his private island in the Bahamas, Johnny Depp reportedly mentioned the fact that his daughter did not attend the wedding during the trial.

He then reflected on the small, intimate wedding, when only approximately 20 or 25 people were present, including himself and his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis’s older daughter Lily-Rose Depp. Explicitly explaining why his daughter couldn’t make it to the wedding, he said, “Lily-Rose, my only daughter, chose to skip the wedding. There were a number of reasons why she and Ms. Heard did not get along very well.”
